Furore over racist blog posting : Malaysiakini

The Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) has called on the police to take action against a controversial blogger for posting inflammatory racist remarks against the Indian Malaysian community.

Hindraf’s Penang coordinator MN Anbalgan, 37, and information chief S Vadi Velan, 28, have lodged a police report in Butterworth last week against the blogger’s posting in her ‘Life is a drama’ website.

The duo want the police to investigate the blogger, who has identified herself only as ‘Sammy’ in her blog, for allegedly maligning the Indian community with utmost contempt in a posting on Sept 23.

'Sammy’s racist remarks were totally uncalled, unacceptable and unbecoming of a true Malaysian.

‘Her posting insults Indians, embarrass her own community and reflects badly on the polarisation of Malaysian society,’ said Anbalgan.

Malaysiakini has obtained a copy of the alleged Sammy’s racist posting, which has since been removed by the blogger.

Blogger: I hate Indians

The 22-year-old blogger posted her comments after her mobile phone was stolen by two alleged Indian youths when she was having lunch at her office in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 23.

The alleged posting read: “I hate Indians. It’s bad enough they are famous for being drunk and rude (most of them anyway). Now they carry the reputation of being stealer, robbers, rapist, idiots, morons, drunkard bastards and list goes on...”.

The blogger continued that “I am not trying to be racist but it always Indian. It’s Indian fault. I don’t care if I am sued for racism.”

Explicitly describing Indians as “damn a_ _ _ _ _ _ _” and “idiotic”, she dared Indians to complain to her blog and even sue her on the inflammatory racist remarks.

She criticised Indians of trying to live on other people’s hard-earned livelihood.

“You Indians have got no hands and legs to work and earn money, is it?

“Stealing from other people is a happy thing and your source of income, eh? Wait for the day of your fall and people will kick you on the roadside for stealing,” she allegedly posted.

A check revealed that Sammy, who is currently employed in an advertising firm in Kuala Lumpur, had withdrawn the alleged posting after she was continuously bombarded with racist, sexist and other derogatory comments from her readers.

Two days after her controversial blog, the blogger posted a grudging apology.

“Sorry if I offended any Indians. You should know that if you're one of the good, educated ones then you shouldn't be disturbed by what I say,” Sammy wrote.

“Yes, yes, I am racist, but not all times. It doesn't help the fact that most of the phone snatchers I heard are Indians. Or Malay or Indons.”

But the funny thing is instead of replying a racist comments against the Chinese community…I’m trying to redirect my anger..In a more positive way….guys you tell me how??I feel like busting a cap in this cunt..I’m just so tempted to go on and on about the Chinese community …though most my Chinese mates will know where I’m coming from but …2 wrongs will never make a right!!!!
The thing is we are all racist at heart .I am I know…I’m not ashamed I’m just truthful..everyone is…it’s just that we are careful in how we voice our views and the extremes of being a racist as well….
I’m really for the first time lost of words without resorting to being a racist.. ….hence how does one reply to her apology on “I meant it for the lesser educated ones” wtf right???!!imagine if I am agitated …how about my mates in Sentul…good luck to Sammy…hehhehe
We have only our folks to be blamed if you ask me…but I see a better Malaysia for the future..As most Malaysian Chinese of the new generation hate the mainland ones…and most Malaysian Indians hate the mainland ones….that is a sign of becoming MALYSIAN already!!! ….. And the lesser the Chinese are segregating their dialect and cultural background…and the more Indians are abandoning the myth of Dravidians and Aryans and individual backgrounds ….we are headed in the right direction!!!It still is existent but in a depleting manner…it is only a good sign…but this can only go on with the knowledge we impart to our kids….the role of influential media in this case study..Is us and no one else!!!!But honestly..When kids grow up and parent say things like..If you see an Indian and a snake which would you kill…kill the Indian!!!And the Indians tell them kids that if you see a snake and a Chinese which would you kill…leave the snake ..The china man will eat it!!!Than kill the china man!!!
Hate will only breed hate…..The thing is as one can start comments about Indians in the most matter of fact manner the other could go on as well on the Chinese…where do we stop!!!
This is a sensitive topic especially in a country like ours…
Some countries have taken measures..like in Singapore where LKY has forbidden the use of other Chinese dialects in school and on official matters and wants mandarin as a common Singapore identity….gone are the days of pre Japanese war of..cast hierarchy he says…but in Malaysia we have….the opportunity to practice freely what we believe and as in faith or even education…hence we can’t leave it to the government to carve the Malaysian identity for us in stone….but really it’s up to us…most of our parents or grandparents are preoccupied of the happenings India or China….but we must realize we are MLAYSIANS!!!I can’t blame them….but we have to take a stand
And impart this knowledge….this will get better as it moves on..Trust you are much better off here than in our homeland digging a trench hole!!@

So guys number 1 admit we are all racists………whether 0.1%-100% is immaterial ..The percentage level and how we are smart about it matters …As for Sammy ….sudah terlanjak kata …what to do ?sorry babe…you must learn things the hard way…and it will be a lesson to many as well
    CONCLUSION???
    National security threat? YES
    Racialy motivated? YES
    lives at danger? YES
trial?and put the entire Indian and Chinese community at stand still..on this trial.. in a racial tenstion?NO.. we are not ready to be liberal like the Americans and have an ala OJ trial here in Malaysia..When we ask for these kind of trials like in the case of RPK ..We must take in to account the entire intellect level of the whole nation…and its concentration demographically…..Malaysia is a big country …look at the bigger picture…education will solve most of this….but ..hmmmm..Maybe in the next 15 years..
Result= ISA? yes….not too long though..
    Sigh…Sammy…..sammy……

Have a go? Thuggery and big bully syndrome got the world no where. It is people of peace like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King who DID NOT LIFT A SINGLE FINGER on ANYONE who made real changes. Your thuggery is like the caveman barbaric ways which if the majority of the world pratices, there would be civil chaos, and, that computer you are typing in now and the internet that you use and take for granted would not exist. Internet started from geeks and nerds in NASA FYI.

Long ago, there was a country in Europe that carried out propaganda to brainwash its citizens that they were supreme to others and therefore they had to conquer and rule other countries. And then there was a country in Asia that kept telling its citizens from young that if they want to have the resources in the world, then they must be prepared to fight and rule the other countries. The two countries since then had brought untold misery to the world.
In our country, those political parties that survive based on race politics will keep on telling the people the importance in protecting their race and religion. They even have programs like the BTN to brainwash the people from young as well as the civil servants about the need to propagate the racial thinking in all fields and their ketuanan towards others. They will tell the people that they will champion the interest of their race above all. Without their protection, the people will not survive in the open. So the people must give them the full support to propagate such ideology. Just like that two dangerous countries, these political parties are doing the same to fortify their political foundation, but in doing so, they are bringing this country to a catastrophic end in the future. Their continuing action to segregate the communities in this country is doing untold damages to the wellbeing of the nation who needs its citizens to be united to meet the global challenges it faces today. Unfortunately these communal political souls only care for their own survival in the present and will never venture out of their propaganda game for the best interest of the nation and its citizens. Divide and rule will be their continuing battle call while the country moves in its peril.

That's the problem with some of this bloggers. They think they live in a vacuum and their actions has no repercussions. I believe certain private thoughts should be kept to an off-line diary, instead of being open for all to see. It's one thing to be honest and another to be tactful. A person who doesn't know how to be tactful when the occasion calls for it is either immature or stupid.

The thing is if the Chinese are perfect then it's fine... lets look at stats. If the chinese didn't kill and rape and rob and all these activities are the sole monopoly of just one race then you can complain and bitch as much as you want and all will be on your side.
I would like to remind you to look around and see how the Chinese behave . try correcting that for a start before pointing fingers at others.

Like talking in your own dialect when you are ina multi cultural group... like hitting the close button as soon as you get in. Or never holding the door for others.. or like always rushing in for anything be it parking or cutting into lanes... the list my dear sammy goes on and on .. so take your time get over your anger of the lost HP and start being a better citizen , then maybe some good karma will come your way :)

people in glass house should not throw stones

survival instincts in human beings initiate jealousy, rivalry and then promote racial disharmony.

if we are all colour blind, perhaps we would all have been real Malaysians, finally!

We are all racist -- to begin with -- deep down and there's no way you can deny it because it's human nature. Embrace it and it will set you free to deal with it.
